spark a memory

Isn't it weird, when a memory will flash back to you?

Last night, Chris, Aspen, and I were at the mall, and Aspen begged to stop in The Chocolate Box. I have never been in this little shop filled with sugary yum yums, but we agreed to go in. We decided to each get a little something, why not? :)

I rounded a corner, and there was a little jar filled with these rock candy suckers. And I just smiled. Suddenly I was back to my childhood shopping experiences with my mom, when she would always let me get one of these. I haven't seen them in years. Didn't know they still made them, even. And then wham! There they are, and I'm remembering.

I had such a great childhood having the mother I did. She is a blessing in my life. She is fun, and honest, and always always there for me. I bought this little pink rock candy sucker, as a reminder of our good times together when I was growing up. I was going to eat it last night, but I think I may just put it in my scrapbook room where I can see it everyday and smile. (It IS pink, after all, so it matches!)

Thank you Mom, for being you!

Oh, I just loved those little rock candy suckers as a child as well! Haven't had one in years!! And isn't it funny how certain things will take us back in time and make us think of things! From talking to you threw our walks I can tell that your Mom is a wonderful Mom! Hope to meet her someday.

It is amazing how the smallest things take us back to happy times in our lives. You should have bought two, though: one to eat and one to keep! ; )
