Becky Higgins Project Life Albums

So. Since I have gone digital with my scrapbooking in 2017, I have been very productive. I am loving it!!

I am still doing single 12x12 Project Life pages, which are just highlight pics from each week. I am also doing normal scrapbooking of our life events.

The fun part, though, is that I have been able to knock out two album projects start to finish! I've done both of Chris' ultra marathon races. Who knows when I would've gotten to these, scrapbooking the normal way. In addition to being fast...the quality of these books is soooo nice!

I want to share these two projects with you!!

The cover of the 50 Mile Run album -- I chose turquoise for this one, and it is
a beautiful, bright color! I'm not sure what material the covers are made from,
but it is like butter...so yummy!! Soft and supple...love it!!
The embellishment pack I used for this album went along with the turquoise theme...
and I journaled throughout to capture all of the memories from that amazing day.
I chose to do an 8"x8" album, which is quite nice. I was doing 12"x12" printed albums,
and these are much  more friendly for viewing I think.
One of the great things about these albums is that they lay flat when you open
them. There is no hump or gap. The assembly is superb.
I chose red for Chris' 100 Mile Run album...it is just as lovely! Same yummy
material, and the titles are engraved into it so you can feel it. The font is always the
same and the size is, too -- so there is always consistency there. I love consistency.
For the 100 Mile Run, I chose an embellishment pack that coordinated with the red theme...
It's so easy to place the photos...I use the app on my phone, and the photos are
already on my phone. For the 50 Mile Run, the photos were actually on my computer
instead...and Chris helped me transfer them into Drop Box, which I can then access
from my phone. It is super easy!! So I can go back and do this with a bunch of
themed albums that are needing to be done!
Here's a side view, of the album spines...again, the font is consistent and the size
is, too...so sitting on a shelf, there will be a lot of uniformity. My initial plan is to
do our normal life albums in black...and then any themed album I do will be in a fun
color. There is also a chartruse green I can't wait to see! And possibly one other color.

So, there you have it!! My first dive into Becky Higgin's Project Life albums...and I must say, I am loving it!!!!

Fantastic Weekend! {Scrapbook Retreat}

Oh happy weekend!!! It was Scrapbook Retreat weekend and I loved it!!

But first things first...more tidying has been done! I tackled my purse/bag collection and my shoe collection. Man, both collections were ridiculous!! I have pulled aside at least half of each category, and it feels so good! I may try to sell some of the bags. But most importantly, they are out of my closet!! I am loving this!! More to come this week -- tops, pants, and jewelry.

Konmari Method on my Bags/Purses! http://kelleylynne.blogspot.com

Saturday morning at 10:00, the girls arrived for our retreat!! We had a pretty full house, and that was so nice! Me, Kim, Terry, Pam, and Paula -- and then we had Allison and Shelby and Linda as well, who are newbies! Fun times! Everyone attended both days, except for Linda...she couldn't return on Sunday. I think that everyone had a great retreat, and they were all so productive! So proud of everyone!

I think my total came to 64 pages! I am pleased with that, of course!

Here is out setup, in the living room...we each have our own little space, and we work work work! We take breaks whenever we feel the need, and we each were in charge of our own meals, drinks, etc. We talk, we have silence...we just ebb and flow and it is perfect!

Here I am on Sunday morning, bright and early before the other girls arrived for the day...the quiet before the storm, ha ha!

Just a little showcase of my talented group!! Terry's book, Pam's page,
Paula's page, and Terry's supply stash!
My pages, Allison's Disney book, Shelby's page, Kim's page
The pups did fairly well throughout the whole weekend...once everyone was in and settled, they were fine. And Chris had himself a very good weekend! Look what was delivered!

So, he spent all day Saturday moving rocks into the dry river bed that he is creating for landscaping. He was a happy boy! Sunday he cut the grass, and then holed up in the theater room to watch tv and do some work stuff. All in all, everyone was happy! And productive!

Thanks to my girls for coming over and spending the weekend with me! I loved it! I'll be sharing some layouts soon!!

recent layouts

I finally got around to photographing the layouts I completed at the past two crops and wanted to share them here with you...

"Fonda" - love this photo and love this woman...

"v day" - still trying to get all the 2004 photos scrapped. Love the confetti on Chris' head...

"Longhorn" - this layout is about the family reunion we went to in 2004, for Mimi's family...it was my first time meeting Chris' family.

"Catching Flies" - this one makes me laugh every time. Konked out in the back seat, mouth wide open...never a good position to be in when Kelley is around with her camera!

:good things are going to happen" - a photo from Aspen's first trip to St. Louis, to meet my family in 2004. Boy, does she look so young!!

"create everyday" - I really like how this one turned out. I have a hard time sometimes doing pages on myself...but this one just all came together...

"who i am" - really love this one. The quote by Dolly Parton, "Find out who you are and do it on purpose" just really moves me. Love it.

"treasure" - I have had this one to scrap for a long time. It is the very best photo I have of my mom with her mom. I treasure it.

"happy holidays" - these are some old photos! Back from 2002!!

" LOVE" - such a bittersweet photo...it was taken during the last visit I had with my grandpa before he passed away. We took a lot of photos that evening and I am so so glad.

"free spirit" - really like this one of Aspen...the title is difficult to see in the photo, it's along the left edge there. And I've been wanting to use that little birdie for a long time now!!

I would love to hear your thoughts on these!! And scroll down to see the layouts I've completed for the scrapbook-for-hire I'm working on...

an update on the ellery album

Well, since I've got about 14 pages done in the scrapbook-for-hire that I'm working on, I thought I would share the pages here. Also, Kim mentioned that she wanted to see them, since I forgot to take them to the crop. So here they are, for kicks and giggles :)

I'd love to hear what you think of them!! Please share some comments...
