Chris and I were really looking forward to our "date night" on Friday...an evening for just the two of us, for some quality time and renewal. On the agenda: dinner and a movie.
We headed to dinner at Red Lobster...the parking lot was packed, and we were sure that we'd have to wait awhile to be seated. We walked in to an empty waiting room, and we sat down right away. Woo hoo! Our waiters name was Clarence, though his nametag said "Clancy". He was an interesting fellow. He was taking care of a large party next to us as well, so it took him awhile to get to us. We were patient! We had a yummy dinner and really enjoyed each other's company. So nice. Once we were winding down, Clancy wanted to know if we needed to-go boxes. We told him that we were going to a late movie, and probably wouldn't be good to have the food in the car that long. He proceeded to "convince" us that we should still take it with us, and brought the box. He went off to run the bill, and came back with my receipt for $74!!!! He had billed us for the table next to us. So it took awhile to get all of that fixed. As Chris and I were getting ready to leave, we decided that we were just going to leave the box of food on the table because we really didn't want it. We joked, on the way out, that Clancy was going to come running after us and insist that we take the box with us. We got quite a chuckle out of this idea! We left the building, and were almost to the car, when we hear behind us, "Hey folks!"...and yes, it was Clancy, running to catch up to us with that box! Chris and I just lost it when we got in the car!
And then I started screaming like a little girl when a grasshopper inside the car started jumping around like a maniac, onto us, everywhere. We were laughing so hard as we flailed around to get him out of the car.
We had some time to kill before the 9:45 movie, so we headed to the mall. Shopped around and found a few bargains. I got a very nice "Tiffany blue" leather picture frame from Dillards for $3.75! It was originally $25. Chris also found a cute shirt at Dillards for $12. We were pretty excited! At the Gap, I found a little black cropped jacket that I thought might work for my lightweight jacket I've been looking for. I tried it on, wore it around the store, and liked it, it was on sale, but it just didn't feel exactly right to me. So I decided not to buy it. Chris always makes fun of me because I talk myself out of stuff all the time, but you've got to trust your gut!!
And I'm so glad I did! Because we headed to Target after that, and I found the most adorable, perfect jacket!!! Just what I've been wanting! I will post a picture of it when I can. It is pink, lightweight, and taylored but not too formal. And it doesn't have a tie. Just what I wanted!
Then we headed to see "The 40 Year Old Virgin", which was fairly raunchy in parts as you can guess by the name, but actually pretty funny too. We didn't get out of there until midnight on the dot...a late night for us!
Such a great date night! We enjoyed it immensely, and need to do it more often...

I'm so glad you guys had a good time Friday night!
I can just see you freaking out when the grasshopper went bezerk. Was it anything like when Birney put that little hamster in your hair? LMAO...That was funny!
Hope your Saturday was good as well. Can't wait to see the pages you finished. I hope to do a few tomorrow, but I'll just have to see how Ashleigh is feeling...
Aww, that sounds like a wonderful evening together! Got to love "dates"!!
TOO funny about that grasshopper. I bet I would have done the same thing, I DON"T LIKE THOSE THINGS!
