giving hearts

People DO amaze me...there are so many giving hearts in this world, and my life is blessed have so many of those people in it!! Christmas is just flowing around here...the thing that I am enjoying most about this season? Lots and lots of people are sending holiday cards with family pictures on them. I love that!! We've gotten nine so far. I think it should be a rule that everyone send photo cards!! :) It's so neat to see how people change from year to year...I am planning to do a scrapbook page with all of the photo cards we receive this year. Not sure how yet, but I will!!!

Examples of said giving hearts:

:: My friend Angie, who works with me, brought in an adorable hat box filled with goodies for me. Adorable polka dot ornaments, a beautiful purse ornament, and some fun socks. I'm all about the fun, crazy socks these days. Not sure how she knew that, but I am totally digging these black and lime green Ralph Lauren socks!

:: And then there's Kim. Oh that Kim...that girl drives me crazy!!! :) But in a good way. She is the single most giving person I have ever met, no lie. She gives and gives and gives, and all the while is thinking of how she can give some more. At the Christmas crop this year, she made everyone a special gift, and then even made a special 8.5x11 two-page spread for me--so beautiful. So I came home and decided that I wanted to buy her a special Christmas gift. We haven't ever really exchanged gifts before, but I wanted to do this for her, to give back to her. I gave her the gift this evening, and do you know what???? That woman pulled out a gift for ME at the same time!!!!!!!! I wanted to just shoot her!! :) And of course, it was a perfect gift: The Scrapbooks, etc. Photography book that I have been drooling over...leave it to her!!

:: This evening, I came home to a big box from my uncle Kevin and aunt Sandy in Virginia. What a lovely surprise! I rarely see them unfortunately and Chris and Aspen have not met them. They've met the rest of the family in St. Louis, but not Kevin, Sandy, Raychel, or Bryan. Let me just say, Chris can not wait to meet them now! They have definitely made an impression on him! We opened the big box to find three smaller boxes...one for each of us. Such sweet, gifts, so thoughtful for them to even send anything our way. It definitely wasn't expected at all. Aspen received a gorgeous turquoise scarf and turquoise and white striped gloves...perfect for her since one of her favorite colors is turquoise. My gift was also perfect...pink and green argyle!! Oh my goodness, I am in love with it! Not only is it pink and green, but I also love argyle! But that's nothing. Chris was blown away by his gift, and I honestly have never seen that. He's a difficult one to shop for, a little picky if I'm being honest! :) He pulled out a red UnderArmor stocking cap. Not at all something that I would think he'd want. Obviously, I have NO idea!!!! He is just gaga. Has worn it all night. Keeps wondering how someone he's never met could've known that this would make him so happy! He can't wait to meet them. I'm serious, this is a huge deal!!! :) It just really warms my heart that they sent these sweet gifts to us. Something so unexpected like that really touches me.

Thank you so much to everyone who has opened their hearts to us and made this Christmas special. We are all so very blessed!

SOOO SHOOT ME! *grin* The way I look at it, I gave ALL the scrappers at the crop the letters we made and the layout was a prize for the crop. So that meant I hadn't given just YOU something yet for Christmas! Thanks for your kind words though, you are a dear dear friend. I hope you enjoy the photography book! I hope that Santa listens and brings me one as well! *grin* I absolutely love the "K" pendant for my necklace. LOVE IT! I have a silver chain that will work, but I may look for another one just for this special gift. Thanks so much!

That is great that your Uncle and Aunt pegged you all so well with the gifts they sent. I can tell Chris will be sporting his new red UnderArmor hat a lot this winter!
