I've had a thorn in my side since June. An ordeal. Something that I've been dealing with week after week, trying to get it taken care of. And nothing seems to be working.
I'm talking blinds here.
We moved into our new house on June 16th. We ordered blinds for our windows TWO weeks BEFORE we moved in, so that we wouldn't be that long without them once we moved in. The order process was quick and painless, and she said it would take three weeks for them to come in. Okidokie.
Three weeks later...no blinds. They didn't know what had happened, but they had no blinds for us. So they had to reorder. Meaning ANOTHER three weeks.
We didn't end up getting blinds in our house until the day before Mom and Randy arrived for our wedding. Which was the beginning of August. About two months to get them in. I thought that was pretty ridiculous, but I was thrilled to finally have them up.
Except.
They installed all the blinds throughout the house. But the two blinds for the garage windows were not installed. They said they'd be back within the hour to put them up, that they had to get something from the warehouse. And of course, they never returned.
Fast forward from the beginning of August to almost the end of September. Still no freaking blinds for our garage.
Every time I call I get a different story. They never arrived from the vendor. They arrived but were the wrong size. They reordered them. They'd be in soon. And then the newest story...the owner's wife is in the hospital.
I've talked to the sales woman we dealt with. I've talked with the owner. Multiple multiple times. I've been nice, I've been a bitch. I'm getting royally pissed off.
Then last week, the owner called Chris. He "promised" that they would be installed last week. Of course they weren't. This Monday, I called the owner to inquire why his "promise" to my husband was not kept. More about his wife in the hospital. I was not nice. I am sympathetic to his plight, but this has passed the point of unacceptable. Are all of their clients thrown to the wayside when something is going on in their personal life? Does their entire operation shut down?
He told me he could give me a check for the two blinds in the garage instead. I told him I want blinds, and that is that.
He called me back to inform me that one of his friends will help him out and will come to install the blinds for us today. I suppose we'll see if this happens. At this point, I'm not counting on it. Maybe he'll surprise me.
I can tell you this though...if I don't hear from him today, I will become his worst nightmare.

Grr! I am sorry to hear you are still having hell with these people!! You know it is strange, but while Gary and I were at a ball game a few nights ago (Okay, maybe a couple weeks ago?) I head three ladies in front of me talking about someone putting in blinds for one of them and she was talking the SAME story!!! She was having real issues with the company, his wife was ill.. etc. It HAS to be the same company! And I'm with you, I am sorry that his wife is sick, HOWEVER..... I do believe you ordered the blinds LONG before his wife became ill? And besides that, they have to take care of the customers one way or another even after she is ill?? Grrr!!! So, I'm thinking this Blind company is screwing many people over!
