our weekend

:: Friday evening, we decided to go to the high school football game...we grabbed a very quick dinner and then headed to the stadium. It's really quite a crazy thing, high school football in Texas. It seemed like the entire city was at that game. It turned out to be a fun time, even though the game was horrible until the very end. We were losing 21-0 at halftime, and then we had a tied game and had to go into overtime. The other team made a touchdown, but we ended up blocking the field goal. And that was pretty much what won the game for us, since we then made a touchdown AND got the field goal. A one point game. We had counted it off as a loss and had planned on leaving early...but glad we stayed!

:: Saturday I walked a mile for the Memory Walk for Alzheimer's. Took Ocho out with me, and enjoyed the beautiful morning and all the people/dogs. Ocho was not social and wanted nothing to do with anyone or anydog.

:: We had a soccer game at 1:30, which we won 3-0. It wasn't a pretty game though. But we'll take it. I did get some pretty good photos of the girls, so that's a plus!

:: Had dinner at Cracker Barrel, then stopped at the bookstore to browse around. Came home and I made my mother's famous cherry cheese pie. We ate a piece this afternoon, and it was pretty darned good! Not as good as HERS, I'm sure...but not too shabby! My next accomplishment will be to master a friend's sugar cookie recipe...

:: Laundry and grocery shopping today...paid bills and balanced the checkbook...stopped at Michaels for some prizes for the crop I'm hosting this coming Saturday!!! Also worked on my games, they're all set and ready to go!! I'm looking forward to hosting, and to also getting LOTS done since last month I got hardly anything done!!!

:: Need to work on getting stuff ready to have my passport renewed with my new address and new last name. Just in case we win the Jamaica trip for next year! Better have that passport all set...

:: The week ahead looks pretty normal. I have one last prize to get for the crop, and will probably head to Hobby Lobby Monday after work. Beyond that, same ole same ole...hope you all have a super week!!!
