1. My Pickle :: My grandma gave me this ornament, because pickles are one of my favorite foods. She used to give me jars of pickles for Easter, instead of candy! This pickle always makes me smile. It's the first ornament I put on the tree, and it always goes in a really good spot...

#2. Kokopelli :: This ornament reminds me of my step-dad Pat. He wasn't the one who gave it to me, but the Kokopelli symbol is something that we shared. I have a Kokopelli hanging from my rearview mirror in my car, and Pat actually went out and got himself a Kokopelli tattoo during one of his wilder moments. This ornament also reminds me of Dronda. I started liking the symbol during her visit to Colorado when I lived there, and he reminds me of Ray from the Moody Blues. Lots of meaning in this little guy...

#3. Irish Shoe :: This adorable little shoe with the clovers represents my Irish side of the family. We are proud of our Irish roots! I also have a cute little harp. These always make me smile...they remind me of my dad and my grandpa, who are no longer with us.

4. My High School Graduation Ornament :: Love this one. My grandparents gave it to me when I graduated from high school in 1994. Such a long time ago, it seems!!!! I love that I have an ornament for this milestone in my life...

#5. College Graduation Dog :: My oldest friend Amy's mom Betty gave this ornament to me when we graduated from Truman State University in 1998. Also seems so long ago!! Her daughter and I were roommates for 4 years, and Betty had been a part of my life since I was in the 5th grade. Another milestone with a great ornament, love that!

#6. Sheeba :: My grandpa gave me this ornament. He bought it and then painted the dog black and gray to resemble our cocker spaniel Sheeba. I love that he took the time to create something unique like that, there is such love in that. Reminds me of my grandpa and Sheeba all at the same time...
There are others, of course. And I have so many very beautiful ornaments too. These are just a few that jumped out at me, with their special backgrounds. Isn't Christmas grand!?

What a great post!! I loved reading the meaning behind each ornament. I don't have many personal ornaments like this, but my children do. Gary's parents give them a new ornament each year. They look forward to seeing what the new one will be each year and the love putting them all on the tree.
Love them. Christie still makes it up high in the center of the tree and she has been gone from us for so many years but makes Christmas every year! For a four legger, she loved Christmas so!
