crazy day

So, today was a non-routine day...we didn't get up, go to work, come home for lunch, go back to work, and then have a quiet evening at home.

Nope.

Today, we had a company-wide seminar workshop from 8:00 am - 1:30 pm. We have one every year at this time, and it's always something that is supposed to enrich your life and make you a better person. This year was no different.

We had a Versatility Workshop that dealt with different personality styles. Many of us have taken personality tests in the past...this one was different in that your PEERS answered the questions about YOU. So it was about how your behavior is perceived by those around you.

Very interesting stuff. Not only did we learn what our personality style is, but we learned how we can modify that style to better communicate with people who are a different style. Everyone can surely benefit from becoming a better communicator, in their personal AND professional life.

Everyone received a main style, and then also a sub-style...so, one thing we are strongly based in, and the other one that compliments it. I will go into some more details on this soon, but since tonight is also our Christmas party at work, I am short on time. So, just the basics for now.

I am an Expressive Analytical. Analytical being my main style. Chris is an Amiable Driver. Driver being his main style.

The interesting thing is that we are direct opposites on the chart. We deal with things differently, communicate differently. It's very possible that with these style discoveries, we can learn to better communicate with one another.

It's about time to head off to our Jamaican Christmas party...should be lots of fun!! Will post photos from that as well!!!!
