nature walk

On Christmas Day, after we had eaten lunch, we decided to take a walk around our neighborhood. We like the square look out in front of our house, as it has yet to be developed. So it's just a field right now.

While wandering around, we discovered a little nook down at the end of the street. It offered up a wealth of photo ops, and we were able to play around with the new camera a little bit...

Sometimes, when you are looking for it, beauty shows up in the most unexpected places...like this weed...love those squiggles...

And this weed...am loving the portrait mode, and the way it really blurs out the background. Our old camera did not achieve this quite so well...

Ever seen REAL mistletoe? Did you know that it is actually a disease that a tree gets? It's all over down here. Here's a closeup shot, love the green against the blue...

Looks like Chris is in some knarly forest somewhere...but no, just about 2 minutes from our front doorstep...

At first I thought these were some kind of egg, but turns out they were ghords. Still pretty cool, and I'm pleased with this pic.

My handsome man in the tall weeds...

Some fuzzy weeds...love how the light played with them...

One of my favorite things is to find beauty in the everyday. It's out there. Do you notice it? Take some time out of your busy life to see the world around you. Look at the world with a different eye. I love that Chris will wander with me and do this very thing.

So much beauty...even in those weeds of life...
