7th grade

Holy schnikey...Aspen is in 7th grade!!

School started here on Monday...she is officially in junior high now. I know you are all right there with me, saying, my goodness they grow so fast! Where are the years going?

She looked very cute...bluejean capris, turquoise Hollister t-shirt, flip flops. I wish I could've been at the school to count how many kids had on Hollister shirts. It is our newest store at our puny mall, and it is all the rage around here right now, trust me! She even had her hair all flat-ironed and pretty and down...and by the end of the day it was pulled back. I have to admit, I'm a horrible influence on her in that regard...my hair is rarely down!

She said her first day was "great!"...and hopefully this is going to be a great year for her. After last year's troubles, we ALL need for this to be a good year. A great year. Dear lord baby jesus...

As is tradition, Chris took her to school this morning. And she asked him to walk in with her to get her schedule. So she is not quite at the point of being embarrassed by our presence :) Those days are coming, I'm sure!

She's taking a double block of math this year...so that will hopefully be a huge help in the grade/understanding departments.

For all you out there with kiddos back to school...hope they all have a great year!!

Now, a few tidbits:

:: I think I have finally (FINALLY!) found some dog food that Ocho really likes. This dog won't eat anything. I finally went to soft food in a pouch, that has gravy on it. Boy oh boy, he's licking his chops now as I'm getting it ready. That has never happened. Every morning for months, Chris has been giving Ocho 2 Fruit Loops as a treat (don't get me started on THAT one!). Ocho goes running after him when he knows he's going to get them...but this morning, I was making his food at the same time, and he came over to ME and didn't even want the Fruit Loops. Oh my!!!

:: Made the Brown Rice Pilaf (page 103 in the Eat Clean Cookbook) tonight for dinner, and the family raved about it. Another gold star for Clean Eating!

:: My grandpa is still in the hospital, recovering from his surgery. They think he should be able to go home Wednesday. All fingers crossed.

:: I don't think I ever mentioned that I got the results back from the skin biopsy they took from my cheekbone. The results were BENIGN thankfully. I was so happy when the nurse told me that. They do, however, want to remove the entire spot, just in case. So I need to schedule that proceedure. Will try to do that Wednesday.

:: Looking so forward to Labor Day weekend!!! No plans, just relaxing!

I'm saying some major paryers that Aspen has a better year at school this year! Love the pictures. she is growing up so quickly.

I am so happy to hear that the skin problem wasn't serious!! I know you don't really want to go through the procedure of having the spot removed, but once it's done I'm sure you will be glad you did.
