our weekend

It's been a pretty good weekend here for us...

:: Saturday was Cross Country Meet #3 for Aspen and she had a pretty good race. Her time was consistent with her first meet (only two seconds slower), and she placed sixth. She gave it her all, and continues to make us proud. In the shorter distance of the mile, she's losing some time at the gun. She's not getting out in front and is getting stuck behind some other runners. That's the main area she needs to work on...

:: Chris left for Dallas on Saturday around 2:30. He picked up his employee Scott, and together they rode to Dallas to meet up with a consultant they use through work. They've never met him, so it was a great opportunity to get to know him. And where were they going to be doing all of this? At the Dallas Cowboys football game! That is where they currently are, and I've been watching it on tv to see if I can see Chris. They are in the Cowboy's endzone, about 10 rows up. How great are those seats!!?

:: Saturday afternoon, Aspen and I went to the movies. We saw
"The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2", which was cute. We both enjoyed it and it was a good way to while away the afternoon.

:: The rest of my Saturday was not entirely fun. From about 6:00 until 10:30, I worked on a big project for work. It was nice to be able to concentrate on what I was doing and make a lot of progress. There were surely many other things I would have been doing though!

:: Bought a few design magazines at Books a Million, to kind of jazz up my ho-hum design outlook. Time to refresh and learn some stuff. It's never good to be stagnant.

:: Also bought
this, and I'm on Chapter Three already...

:: Browsed around Target for a bit...had to get a wedding gift for this Saturday, and also freshened up my makeup. Also was in dire need of new sunglasses, because of my two pair, one was horribly scratched on the lens, and the other had peeling acrylic. Time for new...

:: And now it is time for...more work on my project! I'm almost done, so it shouldn't take too long hopefully...

Yeah for you getting into your work...sometimes we just need that new outlook...Read that book and liked it...his books are always good, quick reads for me...I love his writting and I am from NC so usually he sets his stories in places I have been. Yeah to Aspen for another good meet...she is just doing great.

Let me know what design books you chose, if you like them. Might be time for me to do a little of that refreshing myself.

Yay for Aspen too. Sounds like she's found something that fits her.

Sounds like a good weekend over all, Despite you were having to do work at home! Blah to that.

Sounds like Aspen did a fine job at the meet! Glad it went well for her.

Hope the new design book helps your mojo flow again!
