my thursday

:: Almost sliced the tip of my thumb off this evening while cooking dinner...with a serrated knife...not pleasant by any means. Quite a bit of blood, and it's still throbbing.

:: Today was a misty gray day. Anyone who knows me probably knows that I am not a fan of rain...and today I had to do some walking in it at lunch. Meaning I spent the afternoon with the dreaded frizz. Gotta love my hair. Not only am I out of my straightening spray and started off the day with not-perfectly-straight hair anyway...to add frizz on top of it...whew!

:: An old friend from high school emailed me, asking lots of questions about Clean Eating...nothing warms my heart more than that! You've got questions, I'll always take the time to answer them. I am by no means an expert, and still have plenty of work of my own to do, but I love spreading the knowledge...because it is something I truly believe in.

:: Aspen's junior high honor band competed today in a UIL competition at one of the local high schools. Chris and I went to listen, and were very impressed with their talent! They played three songs, and sounds amazing! The best part, to me, was witnessing the sight reading portion after they played their three songs. They got all set up, and were handed brand new music that they had never seen. And after 2 minutes of going over it with their teacher, they played the new music. And it sounded so good! So hard to believe that these young kids are capable of something like that. Very impressive...

:: My "12 Days of Clean Eating" was a bit waylayed today. After the competition, we grabbed a quick lunch at Taco Bueno...needless to say, there is nothing clean there. However, that is the beauty of clean eating...you just keep moving forward. Have a misstep? Eat clean at the next meal. It's a long-term deal, and there will always be times when it can't be helped...it's the act of making healthy choices over bad choices, when you can...

:: Saturday, Chris and Aspen are running in a 5k race here in Abilene...should be a fun morning! And then the rest of our weekend is open...ahhhhh...
