We've had a nice weekend. Aspen had a cross country meet on Saturday morning...first of the season, though she didn't run for her junior high. They didn't go to the meet, so she ran with her track club. She ran a great race, went out very fast. There were at least 60 junior high girls and at the end of the starting stretch she had zoomed out to the lead.

She lead the entire race, with two girls right behind her.

She came into the final stretch with a decent lead...but started to slow down and the other two girls caught up with her. And then the mental mistake...Aspen stopped before the finish line. She thought she was there but she stopped too soon. And the girl in second took one extra step and took first. So, a second place finish for Aspen...she ran a great race though, and we were proud of her. Hopefully next weekend, at her first school meet, she'll be able to pull off a first place...
On the house front, we have signed a contract on the house being built!! Very excited, both of us! It is in their hands now, and waiting to get their signed approval back. Hopefully all will work out there with no problems. We've been out to the house twice this weekend, and things are rolling along. The shingles are pretty much done, windows are in. They'll start bricking any day now. So, we are excited about the house and now our house needs to sell!!!!!!

Below are a few pics of the house being built:
Here is the front of the house...shingles on...house wrapped and ready for brick/stone. From left to right, you'll see the garage, the dining room, the entry, and the scrapbook room...
This is one of our favorite features of the house...the main wall in the living room, all glass windows. It's so striking! The living room will probably be twice as big as what we have now...which is one of the main things we are wanting...the ceiling is a 20ft vaulted ceiling with makes it seem so grande...
This the special ceiling in the master bedroom...when finished, it will actually light up around the edges...
This is a skylight in the kitchen...it is finished off with a "t" pattern, and a fan hangs from the center of it...
The back porch is a good size, and there is a fireplace on the corner, with tv hookup.
The back of the house...looking left to right, you see the living room, master bedroom, and master bathroom. The master bathroom will have a huge tile shower with two shower heads and will be a steam shower. There is a big jetted corner tub and a big walkin closet.
From the back of the house, this is what we see. The lot is 2 acres, and the back half is like a forrest. Lots and lots of trees. The good thing about that is that we'll never have anything behind us. Plus, it is a neat area with all the trees and even a creek. The builder will even build a little bridge over the creek so we can get to a clearing. Fun!!
A closer look at the forrest...
And the creek...actually some water in it right now because we just had some rain...it will need some debris cleared, but it will really be a neat area...
Needless to say, we are very excited! It is a different experience than the other house, because it is fun. The seller of the other house took out all of the fun for us. We both totally feel like this is where we need to be. That this is the way things are supposed to be.
Updates to follow!
