:: On Friday, our company had its monthly luncheon. I really enjoyed this one, we haven't had one since November (which we weren't able to go to, so our last one was October)...nice to get together again. A highlight, for me at least, was my coworker and friend Kathy presenting me with a Performance Plus award...I may have mentioned these in the past, but basically this is a peer award for going above and beyond...each employee has $100 to give away throughout each year, to any employee they think deserves it. They can break it into two $50 awards, or do one $100 award. I wanted to share what Kathy said as she presented the award to me, because it really touched me and brought tears to my eyes:
"In June, when I started working in Marketing, this woman was responsible for showing me the ropes here at FDLIC. I knew when I met her that she was going to be the one I was going to be "accountable to" on more than one level. Today, I am priviledged to call her my colleague and ESPECIALLY my friend. Her corporate skills reach above and beyond the call of duty. She is teh epitome of a "get it done" girl. She is always encouraging and appreciative of a job well done. And after my experience as a graphic designer for nearly 30 years...SHE inspires ME!"
Touched me straight to my heart, for sure...
:: Our weekend was decent...lots of eating out, time with friends, chores, etc. We recently got a Sam's card through our company, so Chris and I spent some time wandering around in there this afternoon. Chris and our fabulous "handy man" Neeley (Greg) also worked Saturday and Sunday to install our new surround sound speakers in the ceiling in the living room. Those two work so well together, and Neeley is teaching him a lot of good, handy things. I'm so glad they are friends!!!
:: I am officially TWO WHOLE MONTHS with NO white sugar!!! No cakes, no cookies, no candy, nothing at all that has SUGAR listed as an ingredient. Go me!
:: An Ocho update...we are all really starting to believe that Ocho is in serious mourning for our boxer, Foster, that passed away a few weeks ago. His behavior has been really bizarre, such as wanting to hide under things, not eating, and he looks like he is having severe anxiety issues. I don't necessarily think that he is in major pain when he is squealing...of course, this is all speculation, but we are all thinking this is the case...guess we will see how it plays out. I am sick with worry, because this little 8 pound boy brings so much joy to my daily life. He has not been himself for a little over a week now, and it is a very sad thing to witness.
:: I need to get some work done on my annual report design...so adios for tonight!!

I've been away from the computer for a few days and hoping for a better Ocho update. But...you just know you might have hit on something with the mourning. They cannot speak in human terms but feel so deeply. Could be a part of what he is dealing with. A trusted friend is not with him each & every day now. Give him extra hugs. PTS
I am so excited to hear about your award...that is awesome and such a great thing to get from your peers. Yeah on the no sugar. You rock! I am so sorry to hear about Ocho...poor guy and poor you. I hope he starts to adjust and be more of himself soon...
I just Love Kathy! And you deserve the award!
I sure hope Ocho is back to himself soon!!! {{hugs}}
