:: I saw a commercial last night for a tv show with Jamie Oliver...you probably know him as The Naked Chef? Check out this link for his Food Revolution...I love that he is doing this and I signed his petition. He's all about natural food, getting rid of processed food, and teaching people to cook. Also getting GOOD food into the schools of America. His new show debuts on March 26th on ABC. I'm looking forward to it. He also has a cookbook called "Food Revolution". Go Jamie!
:: We got 4 inches of snow here in Texas and school was cancelled today...so Mimi and Aspen got to enjoy a day off. Boo!! Wish we had been off too. Now the streets are slushy and hopefully they won't freeze for tomorrow. I am ready for SPRING.
:: We took Ocho back to the vet this morning and left him there for evaluation all day. He was hurting so badly this morning, squealing like we were pulling out his toenails. I tried picking him up to take him outside when he woke up, and he started with the squealing. So I tried to give him his pain meds and muscle relaxers to help calm him down, but he began squealing some more. The sound was heart wrenching, I can not even explain it. It made me cry and I am not a crier. I felt so badly for him and just want him feeling better again. We dropped him off and after a few hours the vet told me that they had taken xrays and found nothing broken or out of place. They did blood work and found his red levels a little high and one other thing, but mostly everything looked normal. He is now thinking that this is an inflammatory reaction, though he isn't sure what caused it. He is on the steroid prednasolone now and we'll see if this helps. He gave him a shot of cortizone and that seems to have helped with the swelling and the pain. Ocho is alert now and it is so good to see. He's been laying around and taking it easy still, but hopefully these new meds will do the trick. Please keep him in your thoughts, he is my baby!!
:: Had an insanely busy/crazy day at work...sat in on three interviews and that was an interesting experience. Also went to the Go Red for Women luncheon sponsored by the American Heart Association...drove our company van filled with me and 7 female coworkers to the Civic Center and we enjoyed a nice 2 hour lunch!! A nice little perk from our company, one of many...
:: I am reading "Handle with Care" by Jodi Picoult, and am in the final 1/4 of the book...things are coming to a head and the story is really heating up. It's been a good story so far, will let you know when I'm done...
:: Need to go do my arm and ab workout...until tomorrow!!!
