:: Rented this movie and this movie this weekend...obviously, The Hurt Locker was a Chris choice, but it was pretty decent. The story of the main guy was pretty interesting. As for Up in the Air, I was excited to watch that one. I bought the book, but haven't gotten to it yet. I don't typically watch the movie first, so it was a bit odd for me. I was left with kind of a ho-hum feeling when it was over. Chris actually liked it more than I did. I'm a Clooney fan, and I thought there were some great parts throughout. I guess I wish the ending had been different. I'm interested to see how close the movie was to the book. Maybe it ended differently???
:: I made some delicious Clean Eating cookies this weekend, and they were the absolute best clean treat I have made. Oh my. YUM. Below is the recipe...I definitely recommend trying them!!
Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 cup natural peanut butter (no preservatives, just peanuts if possible)
3/4 cup sucanat (natural sweetener that looks like a grainy brown sugar)
1 egg
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp sea salt
3 oz dark carob chips (these are strictly cocoa powder, no sugar)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium bowl, stir together first five ingredients until blended. Stir in carob chips. Drop doug by rounded tablespoonfuls onto a coated baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to a wire rack and cool for 15 minutes.
OMG. YUM. Of course, the problem with them being so good is that I ate the entire batch this weekend.
:: I hope you all had a very nice Easter...ours was good. Our church service was very good, and there were a few baptisms that were pretty moving. We like to have fun with Easter, give some baskets filled with candy treats. Which is all fun and good, but more importantly, we have to remember to give some thought to Jesus today and what he did for our life...it's truly amazing...
:: I have a fairly busy week ahead...but lots of fun stuff is included! I have bunko this week, and lunch with Kim ...and if Aspen's grades are decent by Friday, we'll be going to Brownwood on Saturday for the District Track Meet. Honestly, it isn't very fun having to "wait and see" all depending on her grades. She just doesn't care. We also have high school orientation on Thursday. Oh my. That is actually another "wait and see" thing right now...she needs to pass her classes and also pass her TAKS test to move on to high school. We shall see, we shall see. In the meantime, I guess Chris and I go and get "oriented"...
:: Mimi will be turning the big 6-0 on Thursday!!!!
