the weekends always fly by

Somehow, the weekends always go by way too quickly...maybe because we pack them so full! :)

Friday at work, my friend Kathy whipped up a bouquet for me that included three huge sunflowers. Just the sight of it makes me smile. I love sunflowers, they are such a happy flower. And they remind me of my stepdad Pat...

Friday evening, we met Neeley and his girlfriend Lauren, along with Lauren's sister Heather, for dinner at Casa. It was yummy and the company was good, as always. After a stop at Nikki's for frozen yogurt, and then a brief stop at Home Depot, we were home for the night and relaxed a little.

Saturday, we slept a little late and then had a full day. Chris and I went to a few antique stores and found a few treasures. It was very nice meandering through those stores together. We had a yummy lunch at Genghis Grill, and then went to two garden stores looking for a fountain and something to put in our huge new pots. It was at least 105 out there, so it was a pretty hot experience. But, we were successful!!! We found this perfect fountain...

It was so heavy!! It took five big guys and a fork lift to get it into the Murano!! Somehow, Chris and I were able to get it out of the car and onto our courtyard though, with just the help of a big old blanket. It's all set up and filled, and I love the relaxing sound of water!!

We also found these juniper trees for the big pots, and it looks just how I envisioned!!!

So, it was a very productive day.

Even better, we did some price comparison grocery shopping that evening at HEB (instead of Walmart). I think I have been pretty vocal about my great dislike of Walmart. I was very pleased when our bill was around the price of what we'd have paid at Walmart, and the experience was much more pleasant and less stressful! I did a little happy dance in the parking lot!!! :) So, hopefully no more Walmart. I would be the happiest girl alive!!

Sunday, after church, I met Kim and my friend Angie for a movie date! We saw The Help, and it was really good! From the previews I had been a bit concerned with the casting, but it turned out quite well. They kept the movie very true to the book, and I really enjoyed it. Then came home to do laundry and clean house. And then made delicious french toast for dinner! YUM!

Now another week begins...we have Open House at the high school tomorrow night, to do a condensed run through of Aspen's classes for the year. We'll also be getting Chris' car in (finally) for the hail damage from back in April. Once his is finished, we'll get mine in.

Hope you all have a great week!!
