three days!

:: Three day weekend for me!

:: Friday I was off work! Ah, glorious day. I had absolutely no plans and did whatever struck my fancy. It was perfect. I slept late, ate some breakfast, and then watched Amelie, one of my favorite movies. It's been a long time since I've seen it, and I had forgotten a lot. Enjoyed that. Then I took a long hot bath and the watched Friends and scrapbooked. Just a very relaxing day and I loved it! I have another Friday off coming up, and I am ready for it!

:: Friday evening, I ran to the store and bought some snacks, and then met Chris for a quick dinner at Blue Taco once he got off work. Then we had our friends Kelsey and Kyle over to watch the Rangers in the wild card game. They did horrible and didn't make it to the next level, but we enjoyed their company! Rooting for the Cards!!!

:: Saturday, we slept a little late and then enjoyed a pretty lazy day. Watched Captain America together, which I thought was pretty blah. Then Chris worked outside finishing up some things, even though the temperature was in the 40s!!! Brrr! I cleaned a few things (more on that here in a minute) and then scrapbooked. We had a nice dinner out together at Pizza Inn, and stopped at Old Navy where I bought a pair of skinny jeans! Those aren't something that I ever anticipated being able to wear, since I have such big calves. But, I wanted some to wear tucked into my riding boots, and actually found a pair that fit great! They are a dark jean wash, and very cute.

:: Sunday, we enjoyed a very good sermon at church on hope...and then we did the grocery shopping and laundry. A normal Sunday...

:: Pinterest is a great site, but you do have to test things out before you endorse them! :) I decided to try out a method I found there for cleaning a glass top stove. You use baking soda and let it sit for 15 minutes. I did it twice, and didn't feel like it had any fabulous results. So, scratch that one. But! I looked up cleaning methods for stainless steel appliances, because everything I've tried always leaves horrible streaks. Stainless steel is so difficult to keep fresh looking, and it is impossible to get looking clean in the first place! It is pretty maddening, actually. So, the first one I found said to use olive oil. Hmmm. Worth a try. You put the olive oil on a paper towel and rub it with the grain of the stainless steel. Then you buff it with a dry, soft cloth. OMG. Really!??!?!?!?! It worked amazingly!!!!!! Our fridge and our dishwasher look brand new! They haven't looked this good since the day we closed on the house!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Chris was even impressed :) The only downfall to this is that Poppy seems to like the smell/taste of the olive oil, and now I have little lick marks on the bottom of the appliances!! Really -- if you have stainless steel, you should definitely try this. So impressed.

:: Hope you all had a great weekend!!!
