great weekend

:: Friday evening, we stayed in and cooked at home for a change -- steak, baked potato, yankee corn. I had taken the day off and it was nice...though I did start feeling like I was getting a cold again. Stupid sickness.

:: Saturday morning, Chris was kind enough to drop me off at Kim's house at 6:00 a.m. -- and me, Terry, Kim and Sophia headed off to Dallas for our Scrap Day 2013!!! It took us about 2.5 hours to get to the Sheraton hotel right across from the Texas Rangers Stadium. We found the conference room for our scrapbook event and got our stuff settled and unpacked. Then we shopped through the fun kits that Shelby, the woman who puts on these Scrap Days, has for sale. I was a good girl and didn't buy anything...I'm saving my money for the St. Louis Archivers :)

Throughout the day, we talked, laughed, worked on our layouts, and did two class sessions with Shelby. We broke for a delicious Italian lunch, and again for a Pizza Hut dinner. We made it the full day, and worked until midnight before turning in to our rooms upstairs. My day contained a LOT of Kleenex and I didn't feel fabulous, but I was able to make it through. It certainly wasn't as bad as our retreat a few years ago.

:: Sunday morning, we woke up, got ready, and headed for breakfast at Panera -- I had the most delicious asiago bagel with cream cheese, a shortbread cookie, and some black iced tea. Yum yum. Then sweet Kim drove us safely home and our fun weekend drew to a close...

:: Was so good to see my hubby when I returned home...I did the laundry and made the grocery list, and then we headed to dinner together at Pizza Inn and did the grocery shopping. Then -- home to watch The Walking Dead!!! What an episode this evening, whew!!!

:: Back to work tomorrow - I really enjoyed my three days off. We have a week of work, and then we are off to St. Louis on Friday!!!!!!! Can't wait for our time with my family and friends in STL!!!
