Hi there! It's been awhile, eh? :) We had a wonderful visit in St. Louis over the last week, and we are now home and getting settled back into our normal routine. Back to work tomorrow :(
It will take me a few days to get our trip documented here, so bear with me!
We left Abilene on Friday, 11-22 after work. It had iced that day, and the roads were not in the best condition. Chris and I debated whether to go ahead and leave as planned, or wait until the next morning. Since the forecast called for more of the same, we decided to chance it so that we wouldn't get stuck in Abilene. The roads were pretty bad, and we saw a lot of accidents along the way. We were able to go about 50 MPH, except on the overpasses, where we had to go down to 30. So it was a long trip. We were able to make it to Tulsa -- left Abilene at 6:00 pm and arrived in Tulsa at 3:30 am. It was a tense ride/drive. Aspen watched movie after movie after movie, combined with naps here and there. She was a happy girl!
We were up and on the road by 8:30 am the next day, and
made it to my mom's house around 3:00 pm. It was so good to see them!!
We enjoyed a relaxing day together, complete with a delicious home
cooked meal by mom -- salisbury steak and greenbeans, yum yum!!!!
On Sunday, 11-24, we went to the Repp's house for our annual visit, and it was so very nice to see them all! Fonda made a delicious dinner (complete with my favorite, her egg salad!!!) and we talked and laughed. We love the Repps!!! Afterwards, we played some Bop It, looked at scrapbooks/trip albums, and had a little photo shoot. It was so nice to just relax and hang out together. I really miss them!! We took a lot of photos, but here are a few favorites; I'll have a good 4 pages of scrapbooking to do with all of them!!
On Monday, 11-25, we had lunch at Faraci's with Mom and Randy -- the pizza was sooooo yummy -- and then we headed to my Olender grandparents for a visit. We chatted and looked at albums, and my grandparents gave us this beautiful Last Supper platter that they have had for a very long time. I can't wait to find the perfect place for it. It was so good to have this time set aside to spend with them.
That's my first installment! Lots to go, but I need to get dinner going :)
