:: Hello all! So, this is what we've been dealing with here in Abilene:
:: I was off on Friday -- and so was Aspen (snow day from school) and Mimi (snow day from her teaching job). Chris trekked in to the office, which took about twice as long as normal. We tend to get a lot more ice in Abilene than we do snow, and our town can't handle it. So the streets are very bad, and we have hills going either way out of our subdivision. So, instead we take the country roads.
:: For my day off, I worked on organizing a bunch of stuff that has been piling up, and then that afternoon Aspen and I decorated the house for Christmas. Our tree looks so pretty!
:: Saturday, I scrapbooked and watched movies all day and it was the best!!! I watched "What to Expect When You're Expecting" which was very good, and "The Guilt Trip" which was ok. I was able to finish off the final details on the 39 pages I did in Arlington last month, and then moved on to other stuff too. Fun fun! Aspen's friend's dad picked her up for a day with her friend, and she enjoyed getting out of the house for a bit. Around 5:00, Chris and I ventured out to see how the roads were. They were quite icy, a solid sheet actually. But we went slow and didn't have much trouble at all. We did the grocery shopping and had dinner at Pizza Inn...then headed home. We watched "Rango" with Aspen, which is animated and turned out to be pretty cute.
:: Sunday, we ventured out to church! They went down to just one service due to the weather, and the roads were actually worse than they were the night before. But we made it safely. The service and worship were fantastic and I am so glad that we went. We haven't been in a few weeks. When we came out of the church at 12:15, the sun was finally finally shining and the ice was melting melting!!!! So now the roads are thankfully much better. Afterwards, cleaned and made some gifts, and then made a macaroni and cheese bar for dinner that was so delicious!!! And now, working on getting ready for the week ahead.
I hope you are all safe and warm!! Any weather in your neck of the woods??
