Our evening was spent searching for birthday gifts for Ms. Aspen, who is turning nine years old this Friday. Her big gift is going to be a "new bedroom", so our search for a new comforter/sheets/etc is on. Haven't found anything in this town! :( We went to quite a few places this evening, and will be back out tomorrow night. We were able to get a few small gifts, but nothing else can be bought until we find the comforter. We want to get her a bean bag chair and some room decorations too, all of which revolve around the bed!
grrr...
On a brighter note, had a fun, playful evening with my baby tonight, we were both in such silly moods. I love those times the best...he cracks me up, makes me smile and laugh. Such a kook. Love him!!!
The evening has flown by and it's time to get ready for bed. Tomorrow is another day, and it holds a nice walk with Kim and more shopping with my man.
Here's a question...Aspen's birthday party on Sunday is going to have a luau theme...I've got the decorations, now I need activities. ??? Help! I've never planned a kid's party before! It's only from 2-4, so there will be presents and cake. We'll probably do a limbo contest. Is that enough activity for two hours? Should I plan more or let them fill the rest with whatever they want? Help a poor clueless step-mom-to-be!!! :)

Sorry you are having trouble finding the perfect thing for Aspen. Keep searching, it's out there, I'm sure!
As for birthday party games, I wouldn't have the whole thing planned, but a few games are good. I will say this first: Nothing good ever comes of a pinata! That just a potential disaster waiting to happen.
I actually had some birthday party idea sites bookmarked, but lost them all when Aimee redid my computer. But just Google children's birthday party ideas, there is a wealth of ideas....could probably even Google the luau theme.
Good luck!
Oh man, Sorry to hear that you weren't able to find what you wanted last night. Did you go to Bed Bath and Beyond? I hope tonight will be a good night for you.
I am with Jackie.. I wouldn't try to play the entire two hours. I have learned from experience that the girls just want to hang out and giggle and talk. I think the cake, presents and the limbo will take up the two hours if not even a little more!
You will do great. :)
