Chris and our tech guy were able to retrieve all of our data, all of our pictures, everything. Neither one of us expected this outcome, so we are overjoyed. Hot diggity, prayers were answered today!!!
And yes, we've learned our lesson. We are already discussing our new "backing up" process. Hopefully all of you have taken this to heart as well, and are following suit. This is a new computer (about 2 years old) and we never dreamed this would happen. It can always happen, at any time. Don't chance anything!

Oh thank god! I bet you feel like there's a whole weight been lifted off your shoulders. I've been putting off back up this computer for about a year now. Reading ur entry made me think about really getting my ass into gear this week. I have all of my photo's on here.
I'm so glad!!!!!! I was thinking about you guys last night, hoping you were able to retrieve you data. I'll be much more diligent about backing up, for sure!!
I am VERY happy to hear the wonderful news. What a disaster if you would have had to start all over from nothing! That would have been a bitch :)
