effer dare #3

There is a group of scrapbooking girls who refer to themselves as "Effers"...and they have been posting challenges for the rest of us, which they call Effer Dares. I've been keeping up with these, and have been waiting for the chance to actually work on them. I wanted to try Dare #3 first, which was to use a cd cover as inspiration for a layout. After going through my own cds, nothing really jumped out at me. So I browsed online for a bit, and found this cute cover!

I liked the fun bright colors, the silhouette black and white images with the thick black outline, the words going in a circle, and the fun flower accents. I took those ideas and transformed them into my own layout (below)...

I am pretty pleased with how this turned out. It's way outside of my normal box, and I love that this challenge inspired me to go beyond my comfort zone. I'm going to try some of their other challenges as well, and I'm going to keep them all in an adorable little 8x8 album I have.

Thanks, Effers, for your inspiration!!!

Oh what a fun Effer Dare Layout! Love what you did with it. I do agree it is outside your box, but you did it well!

This is so cute! Love the retro feel. What a great idea to do all those dares for separate little album. I'll need to check out those effer dares and maybe try a few myself.
