hall of fame...again

Dare I attempt it again?

Received an email from Creating Keepsakes last week...since I had entered the Hall of Fame contest last year, they sent me the new rules for their upcoming contest. These new rules are a little different than last year's, and I really like the changes they've made. We have more of a choice on what to create. Last year's assignments were set in stone, you had to do them all. This year, we have a few choices to choose from.

Man, it makes me nervous. And I haven't even begun to think about what kind of pages to do! I think I really psyched myself out last time. Kept thinking I had to really make my pages "awesome", and ended up not doing pages in my normal scrapbook style. This year I want to stay more true to my style. Really get down to the nitty gritty of HOW I SCRAPBOOK, and then just concentrate on making pages that I love. I want to not care if anyone else likes them. I want them to mean something to me, and if they get chosen for the Hall of Fame, even better.

I must not psyche myself out again!!! It would probably be a better idea if I just tried submitting pages for the general magazine...which I have only done about 3 times. Nothing like jumping straight to the Olympics without taking the stepping stones to get there!!! :)

Are any of you readers planning to enter the contest this year?

Yeh just be true to yourself. You've got to be you and show them what YOUR cpable of and your style. They will love it. Good luck with it all if you give it ago.

I think you should go for it, as long as you stay true to yourself and your style. Don't get so stressed out over it like last year. I think that you should just go with the flow and see what happens.

Easy for me to say, I've never submitted anything, ever! Since I'm getting into the Simple Scrapbooks scene, so to speak, I might start submitting some LOs for their magazine. I think they're much more my style.

I DO think you should do it again. After all if you don't submit then you for sure wont be picked. I know it was a huge let down last year when you weren't picked. But you have to keep on keeping on to prove to those editors that you are serious and that you do beautiful work. I do think you should stay true to your style this year, just do it because you love scrapping. I am a huge fan of your work and know that you will be published someday!

Yea, I'm thinking of entering. I got a bit intimidated last year and didn't send in my stuff. I figure if I don't make it, I get great pages ou of it...this way, I don't chicken out.
