Seems like it was go go go this weekend! Here's a quick overview:
:: Family Game Night: we headed to Kim's on Friday evening to enjoy some time with her family. Had a yummy dinner together (cheesy pork chops, mashed potatoes, greenbean casserole, salad, rolls, and a chocolatey/caramel dessert), then spent the rest of our evening playing Uno while Kelsey and Aspen had their time playing together too. It was also Kim's birthday, so it was nice to spend her special day with her. We had a great time, and are so thankful for wonderful friends like them. I love that we're able to get together as families, and everyone meshes...
:: Saturday was another Girl's Outting for me and Aspen. She wanted to go to the movies, so we headed to a matinee to see The Corpse's Bride. We really enjoyed the movie, and had a little bonding time too. We then spent a little time at Target before heading to the soccer fields for Chris' game.
:: The Assassins won their soccer game, 6 - 0. It's interesting to watch the girls as they begin using the skills they are practicing each week. This week's game ended with the most beautiful play they've ever executed: a perfect pass from the corner from Hannah, right to Cassidy, where it practically landed on her foot and she booted it into the goal. We were all quite excited with that one!
:: Saturday evening we went to the Balloon Festival, and I was so excited for this. Last year was a huge bust, it was too windy for them to do anything with the balloons. I was thrilled to be seeing the Balloon Glow this year and to hopefully get some awesome photos. Except it was a bust this year too!!! :( I was very disappointed. They did the glow on Friday evening, and Saturday they just tooted their fire into the air over and over. Next year we will have to go on Friday, I guess.
:: Worked a little Saturday night on my tags for the Ring of Friends tag swap...they're coming right along!!!
:: Sunday was Preparing for Garage Sale Day...man, that took forever! We got everything in order and priced, we have a ton of junk!! Marie will be coming over on Friday with her goodies and we will set it all up then. Then bright and early Saturday morning, we'll see what we can get rid of!!! Anyone in the local area, come on by!
:: Chris grilled us a delicious dinner last night...he got it all ready while the rest of us were doing garage sale stuff. I'm very lucky to have him! Chicken breasts, sausage, baked potatoes, fresh corn on the cob, mushrooms, all just yummy! And then we finished it all off with ice cream sundaes, mmm mmm mmm!
:: Chris and I rounded off the weekend by watching the movie "The Door in the Floor", which was based on John Irving's book "A Widow for One Year"...it was an interesting movie...I don't remember a lot from the book since I read it a long while ago, but I think there was quite a lot left out of the movie...
:: I feel like there is a bunch of stuff that didn't get accomplished over the weekend, but there is only so much time. So, I will try to get organized this week so I can get some stuff done!!!
Hope you all had great weekends!!!!!!

Well, your weekend was more productive than mine, for sure!
The Door In The Floor....don't think I've heard of that, or don't remember it. I DO remember Widow for a Year though. I'm pretty sure it's your copy I read. I'll have to look into getting that movie, really like the book.
Good luck with the yard sale. I did that once, a long time ago. And swore I'd never fool with it again! We'll see if that holds true...
Busy weekend indeed! Even though it doesn't seem like you got much accomplished, I think you got things done that needed to be done at this time. :)
We had a wonderful time on Friday as well! I am very glad that our families mesh so well also. We will do it again SOON!
Liverpool Rummy ~ that is a must with Kim's family!
