allergies

Allergy testing was definitely an interesting experience! They wrote numbers on my back with a dry erase marker, and then proceeded to put drops of a million different things onto my back. After that, they took a little white stick with a pointy end and scratched within each drop on my back. Fifteen minutes later, my back was covered with telltale red blotches (I wish I had a picture of it!), showing them exactly what I am allergic to:

:: Juniper trees
:: Pecan trees

:: Wheatgrass
:: Redtop grass
:: Bermuda grass

:: Orchard grass
:: Rye grass
:: Johnson grass
:: Bahia grass
:: Kentucky grass
:: Sweet Vernal grass
:: Ragweed
:: Pigweed
:: Lamb Quarter weed
:: Kochia weed
:: Sagebrush
:: Cocklebur
:: English Plantain
:: Cats
:: House Dust
:: Mites
:: Molds
:: Mildew

Quite the list, eh? She said my allergies are "significant". Yep, I'd say so. Luckily there were no foods in the group, pesky things like yeast or wheat that would make my life more complicated. Or dogs. I would hate to be allergic to dogs!!! :)

I get my first allergy shot this Wednesday...and we'll go from there.

Yikes!! That is some list. I am so glad that you went for the testing and found all of this out! I am sure that the shots will make all the difference in the world!

Your list looks a lot like mine does! Let me know how the shots go for you. Maybe I should reconsider....
