our weekend

Another weekend is winding down...the laundry is all clean and put away, the pantry is stocked with food for next week, I'm feeling a little more rested.

:: Aspen had a Halloween party to attend on Friday evening, which left Chris and I with an unexpected evening alone. We dropped Aspen off at 6:30, looking just adorable as a little witch { see photos in the previous post }. Then we headed to El Chico for dinner and stopped at the new Books-A-Million bookstore in the mall. Picked Aspen up at 9:30, and relaxed for the rest of the evening.

:: Saturday morning, we all got up fairly early. Chris headed to the office, where he spent most of the day working :( Poor guy! He hasn't had much of a weekend at all. He and his boss have been working with a consultant to get some new things done and some other things reorganized. Aspen and I went to my friend Angie's garage sale. Got a few magazines { Oprah, Martha Stewart Living, Real Simple } and a cute little t-shirt to sleep in.

:: Aspen and I then we headed to basketball try-outs. Aspen has decided to participate in the Abilene youth basketball league this season, and she did fairly well in her try-out. They had to dribble the basketball around a series of chairs, then shoot from five locations. We will be awaiting a phone call to see which team she is placed on. Then twice-a-week practices will begin, and I believe the first game is in January.

:: The rest of Saturday was spent getting our Tahiti pictures ready to print out for our trip to St. Louis, and a few other odds and ends. Got dinner and we took it up to Chris and ate with him.

:: Sunday, my sweet man made some yummy french toast and woke me up when it was time to eat. It was sooo good! He then headed BACK to work and spent most of his Sunday there. I have done laundry, grocery shopped, and a whole lot of this and that. I got a frappachino and took it up to Chris for a little surprise. And now a pot of chili is simmering on the stove for dinner, and the house smells wonderful...

Hope you all had a good weekend! { Don't forget to check out Aspen's witch photos below!! }

What a bummer of a weekend for Chris :-( I had one of the worst weeks at work last week and Friday was the worst so I was ready for Friday night crop and the weekend. Hope just being home and the house so welcoming makes the end to the weekend better for Chris!

How gorgeous does Aspen look in her costume! Sounds like a nice and relaxing weekend for you. We had really amazing weather here in the Bay, so mine was spent at the beach. Wish I took my camera cause Dodge was so hilarious. She was petrified of the water.

What a bugger Chris had to work. Fingers crossed he gets a weekend to relax this coming weekend.

Have a fantastic day! p.s u are a human sparkler. You brighten up my day every time i check out ur blog!

Sorry Chris had to work all weekend. That just sucks. But at least you had a nice evening Friday. Sounds like you had a pretty good weekend in spite of it.

Yuck for Chris having to work so much! I hope he was able to get it done so this week wont be so busy for him.

Sounds like you had a busy, but somewhat productive weekend!

Goo Aspen! I bet the basketball will be fun for her!
