and so...

another project begins!

Chris has decided that since soccer is over now for a few months, he needs a project to keep him busy during the cold winter. He does NOT like to be idle...doesn't understand relaxation! :)

We'll call this Project Kitchen Cabinets:

Feast your eyes on the cabinets we currently have in our kitchen. Very dark wood. Really darkens up the kitchen, dark dark dark...I believe these are the cabinets that were in the house from day one...twenty years ago!

To go with our new cranberry walls, we've been talking about painting the cabinets white...I think it will look crisp and clean and really brighten up the place...so, we bought some paint to experiment, and Chris knocked out two cabinet doors last night. We are pretty excited about the results!!! In the pic below, you can see the cranberry walls, the old brown trim and cabinets, and the new white cabinet doors...

Below is just another angle, where you can see the old doors and the new doors, side by side.

It's going to be a long project...we have a TON of cabinets, and then there is the trim and the paneling in the dining room. Quite a project for Mr. Chris! From the looks of these first two doors, though, I think the end result is going to be just what we're wanting...

You will be so pleased with the results. You'll be amazed at how much lighter your kitchen will be! It will also make the area look larger I think!
Good luck Chris - that is a difficult task!

Yes, yes, yes! Do it. My tip: paint every single brown thing in the room white (trim, doors, ceiling, etc)

Good luck!
