It's officially official now...Randy proposed to my mom this evening!!
I received the phone call while we were eating a late dinner at Zookinis...she was so happy, she was talking fast and loud and cheery. I'm so happy for her! The funny thing is, as the phone was ringing and I mentioned that it was my mom, Mimi said, "She's engaged." Mimi must be psychic!
Mom had mentioned that Randy was in charge of planning "date night" this evening, and they were going to Surf & Turf for dinner. Apparently the entire restaurant knew about the proposal ahead of time. Randy excused himself to go to the restroom, and when he returned to the table, he had a waiter in tow with a bottle of wine, and he got down on one knee to the cheers of the restaurant patrons.
And what does my mother say? "Turn the lights up so I can see the ring!!!"
I am so happy for them...I know that she has waited for this for a very long time, and to know that her life is taking this happy turn is a wonderful thing. She deserves some happiness. I'm not sure Randy knows what he's getting into though!!! :)
