honeybun cake

This is the dessert that I made my family for the week...Mimi even declared that this was the "best dessert she'd ever put in her mouth"! Now THAT is a huge compliment! So I thought it was worth sharing with you all. I received this recipe in a recent recipe exchange...

Pretty much, it's a 9x13 cinnamon roll with icing on top! :) And wasn't too difficult to make...

Honeybun Cake
:: 1 yellow box cake
:: 1/2 c sugar
:: 3/4 c oil
:: 4 eggs
:: 8 oz sour cream

Mix first three ingredients, then add one egg at a time, mixing well. Add sour cream until mixed.

:: 3/4 c brown sugar, not packed
:: 3 tsp cinnamon

Mix together and set aside.

Put 1/2 of cake mixture into bottom of 9x13 oiled pan. Sprinkle 1/2 of sugar mixture on top. Repeat, making two full layers. Poke a fork down into the center of the pan, until you touch the bottom. Begin to swirl around and around until it starts to look like a cinnamon roll. Bake at 275 for 65 minutes.

:: 1 1/2 c powdered sugar
:: 1/2 tsp vanilla
:: 3 tbs milk

Mix these together until smooth. Pour the mix over the top of the cake as soon as you remove it from the oven.

Enjoy!

sounds delicious! Will have to keep that recipie for next time I'm in the mood for baking (which is rare I can assure you). Funnily enough Dan often bakes...maybe I'll pass on the recipe so he can make it for me!
