my family swears...

...that I'm trying to fatten them up!

It may SEEM like that's what I'm trying to do...but really, there are two reasons behind the goodies I've been feeding them.

Since January rolled in, I have vowed (though it wasn't one of my intentions!) to make Chris, Aspen, and Mimi some sort of dessert goodie each week. Every Sunday so far, I have made something that they've been able to eat on throughout the week. First it was brownies. Then it was strawberry cake with white icing. This week was a Honeybun Cake, which looked like one big cinnamon roll with icing.

Here's my reasoning...

#1...every time I have to make some goodie for bunko or a crop, I get remarks about how I never make anything like that for home, just when I'm going to take it somewhere! So instead of them feeling left out, I want to spoil them with a little sweetness just for them. It's the least I can do!

#2...I may be on South Beach, but my family is not. For some reason, I am enjoying feeding them, even when I can't have it. Maybe just smelling it while it bakes is enough for me. I haven't had one bite of any of these desserts, but it makes me feel good to do this for them. If I can't have it, someone should, right!?

So no, I'm not trying to fatten up the family so that I, in turn, look skinnier! :)

What should I make next week??? :)

I think it is great that you have been making them a sweet treat each week. :) I am sure they enjoy it as well! Keep on Keeping on..

I think that is very thoughtful! Kenneth isn't a big sugar junkie like me though, so when I make something I have to take it away from the house and give it away!
