We all go about our daily lives, getting caught up in the negativity and taking things for granted...complaining about this little thing or that...not living to our full potential...
And when a scary life situation takes place, it's a jolt...a reminder that NO, we aren't guaranteed a tomorrow. Not by any stretch of the imagination. This very second is quite possibly all that I will have. All that you will have.
So we need to embrace it all...love and be loved and laugh and sing and dance and be silly and enjoy everything life has to offer. Because looking at someone in a hospital bed breathing from a ventilator makes you realize just how fragile life is. Makes you realize everything you have done to fail that person. Makes you realize so so many things.
Please keep Chris' mom (or Mimi, as I refer to her here) in your thoughts today, and in the next few days. She's in ICU, having trouble getting air into her lungs. The look of sheer terror in her eyes early this morning is a sight that I will never, ever forget. Please, think of us...

Kelley, Chris, Aspen, and MiMi.. Please know that you all are in our thoughts and prayers. It is really sad that it takes something like this to make us realize that we need to live our best life everyday and take nothing at all for granted
I totally agree with your post.
And sending prayers to mimi.
