a little different

Life as we know it...well, I think it's probably going to be a little different from now on. We'll just adjust and keep on moving forward as best we can.

Mimi may be coming home from the hospital today. Her doctor is back from his vacation, and they are scheduled to have a long talk today. She wants lots of things answered, and hopefully he can provide that. Yesterday was an emotional day for her...she had to make some phone calls to see if she could get some of the medical bills covered, and to see if she can get her new meds covered. The doctor implied that she'll be on oxygen for awhile after she returns home. So she'll have the little tube in her nose, and carry a portable oxygen thing around. Not sure how long she'll need to do that. She' still fairly week, but seemed a bit better yesterday. The doctor has mentioned things like filing for disability and home health care, she is all freaked out about that. She loves her job and can't wait to get back to it. Getting her well first is our first priority.

I don't see much happening for a long time. We'll need to be close to home so if anything happens, we can be there for her. Our little scope on the world is narrowing in. For instance, this weekend I'm going to a play with my friend Marie and her husband Wayne. Her son Josh has the lead, and I'm excited to see him perform. Chris won't be joining us, since he wants to be home for his mom. It will all just be an adjustment.

We also have the kitchen cabinets, which are in the process of being painted white. Except the fumes from the paint really get to Mimi, get her choked up. Now, more than ever, she can't handle that. So, our kitchen will sit unfinished. Maybe forever.

One day at a time...that's all we can do...

Yes, life will be a bit different.. I hope it is only for a while though.. Hopefully MiMi will be able to get her strength back and return to the work that she loves. I think the talk with the doctor today is much needed and hopefully will put everyone at ease a little.
