field day & mowing & hula hoops

Sunday evening, we grilled out some good food...and in the midst of the cooking, there was some hoola hoop action...



This one of Chris cracks me up! Look at his facial expression!!



Friday was "Field Day" at Aspen's school. Chris and I took a long lunch that day, and sat in the bleachers cheering them on. Aspen ran a 100 m dash and she was also in a relay with three other girls (above)...now, aren't they just adorable! Amber's mom made them these matching t-shirts to run in, and as you can see, they also coordinated their visors!



And the shirts were complete with their "nicknames" on the back...Aspen, of course, was "Drama Queen"...



The girls did very well in their relay...they were fast!! Here's Aspen taking off...

On Sunday, Chris came inside and announced that Aspen was going to learn something that every 10 year old girl needs to learn...how to mow the lawn!! Aspen wasn't too thrilled...but she got out there and cut the whole back yard...





That's the best idea Chris has had in a long time! :) And look how GREEN our grass is...that's what weeks and weeks and weeks of rain will do for you!!!!
