good weekend

Hello all...

Hope everyone had a good weekend! We had NO PLANS and that was so nice. Slept late both days, and Chris and Aspen washed the Explorer {had lots of "Just Married" stuff written all over it :) } I ran downtown to the jeweler to have them take a few links out of my wedding gift from Chris (my beautiful Tag watch). Did a few other errands and then Chris and I started talking about our office/scrapbook room. Boxes were still piled high in that room, and it's the first thing you see when you walk in the front door. We didn't want to do anything with it until we could get new furniture for it, because we wanted everything to match. That room was such a hodge podge. So we decided we could afford to do it, and we went off in search for some new furniture. Found some at Target actually, and it was on sale. Very nice "expresso" finish, everything matches, and it really makes the room look superb. We got 2 desks, one 5-shelf unit, two 3-shelf units, and two filing cabinets.

We worked most of the weekend on this...Chris putting the furniture together, which involved lots of little pieces and took quite awhile. We have the room practically all together, but still a bit left to do. I'll take a photo of the entire room when it is done, but for now, here are two shots of my side of the room:

Other than that...we watched "Walk the Line", which I have been wanting to see. I actually really enjoyed that movie. It wasn't what I expected, and I'm glad that we watched.

Had lots of laundry, from the days we were out of town...got most of it done today. Now it's time to wrap it all up and get ready for a new week ahead. The weekends are never long enough...but ours was good...it feels good to be getting our house the way we want it...

ooooh ... it looks so nice ... and SO organized. we just moved some rooms around in our house and moved my office upstairs and it's full of piles of stuff right now. no organization whatsoever. hate the chaos, but I know I'll love it when it's clean. :)

I bet it took Chris and Aspen forever to wash all the gunk off the car. haha! "Suck it up cupcake". Loved that! :)

OH wow! I'm loving your room!! I'm glad that you guys worked in there this weekend. I know it has been driving you nuts not having it finihed. I'd say it was worth the wait to get the new furniture in there! Love it. can't wait to see the rest of it complete!

Looks great! Love the colors of course. And it is so YOU! What a creative space you have to retreat to.
