25 years

Japanese Garden @ Shaw's Garden, 1982

Japanese Garden @ Shaw's Garden, 2007

I love this!!

The same Japanese Garden...the same rippling creek...the same stepping stone...the same girl...just 25 years apart.

I am so glad I thought to have Chris take this photo while we were visiting St. Louis last month!

It's fun to notice the differences in the photo. Notice that the little arched fence is no longer along the path. See that stick tree in the top photo? The second photo shows how much growth it's had in 25 years. And that girl is no longer 6 years old...but 31.

I love, though, that my stance is almost identical...right arm flailing out, left arm down...right foot planted, left foot ready to go. That was purely coincidental...

Same big calves.

It all just makes me smile.

It's interesting to think about me as this little girl...and to think of me as this woman...and to think about all of the life that has come between them.

I LOVE this, Kelley! So cool. And so meaningful.

It's always fun to look back once in a while and see who you were and think about how you got to where you are today. I've been doing that a bit lately, too.

This post made me smile! :)
