happy thanksgiving

We had a lovely Thanksgiving here today...hope you did too!!!

We were met this morning with this glorious sunrise...ahhh. I love sunrises and sunsets. We were at the park waiting for the 2007 Turkey Trot 5k to begin. Mimi, Alvino, and I were there to cheer on Chris and his running buddy Jay...it was FREEZING!!! We were all popsicles before it was all said and done...but worth it to see my man run, I'm so proud of him!

His time was great, and he was second place in his age division...earning himself a medal!! Woo hoo!! It was a bunch of high school hot shots, one other guy, and then him. I believe he was probably about 6th overall, so impressive!!!

From there, we went home to thaw out and begin cooking Thanksgiving dinner. Mimi, Chris and I all contributed to the meal, and it was delicious! We stuffed ourselves silly...

My pumpkin pie was delicious!!!

I made my grandma's recipe for cranberry salad, and it was also delicious!!! Made me happy to make a dish that is such a tradition in our family...

Chris made the deviled eggs...yum!

Our Thanksgiving was also blessed with SNOW! Flurries at first, but it's quickly accumulating!

Crazy Texas weather! I swear, we enjoyed beautiful 80 degree weather just this Monday!! And today, snow pouring down. We'll take it though...

I hope that your Thanksgiving was filled with joy and family and good eats...we are all truly blessed in so many ways...

Glad you had such a great day. We had a pretty relaxed day, followed by a nice relaxed evening meal with Kenneth's family. Can you believe I didn't take a single photo??? Not ONE photo of Abby's first Thanksgiving. I realized it this morning and was devastated. : (

I do think its funny that you get so much snow out there. We were talking about how long it's been since we had snow here just the other days. It's been YEARS....

What a fun and beautiful day you had. We had a little snow too and Madelynn was really excited that winter is here (me, not so much). It was great being with all our family for Thanksgiving! We hadn't been able to be here since 2002. We are leaving for home tomorrow, no snow I hope!

Sounds like a wonderful Thanksgiving to me!

Great job to Chris on his marathon! It was so stinking cold, it would have been so easy to not go,I'm sure! He did great though!

Loved all the pictures! I'm glad that you were able to make some old family recipes to share with your new family! I am sure they enjoyed them as well.

We were blessed in many ways as well!
