day #1 of 3 day weekend

Our long, 3-day weekend is off to a good start so far...

:: This morning, Chris and I got on the road at 7:00 am for a run/bike run. We went 22 miles, and the weather was so nice to us. It was overcast and even just a smidge on the chilly side for awhile. Definitely a nice change of pace, especially on such a very long workout. We went out through Buffalo Gap and encountered quite a few killer hills. Though my ride, overall, is a bit easier than Chris' run, the hills are much worse on me. Man, the thighs were burning! It's pretty peaceful out there in the middle of nowhere, with no noises or people. So nice. And we came upon a young horse that had gotten loose from a fenced in field...it seemed scared and then we heard the mama horse from behind a bush. She made some noises to let us know that we were not welcome! She was behind the fence and the baby was outside of the fence...I surely hope that sweet animal made it back to safety...

:: Bought
this tonight...excited to read through it. I already did a quick browse through and think many of the recipes look tasty.

:: Also bought the Abs special issue of Oxygen magazine. Lots of goodies in there.

:: We spent some time at the mall today, I was on a search for some new kicks. I want some tennis shoes that aren't as hefty and thick as normal running shoes. I want lightweight and narrow. Unfortunately, the pair I liked wasn't available in my size. And I can't find them anywhere else. So, we came home and I got online and bought
these instead...should get them next week, and we'll see if I like them. I got them at zappos.com. Have you ever bought anything from them? They are a great site for two reasons. 1) when you click on the photo of the shoe, it will show you the shoe from all different angles and 2) there is free shipping both ways, so if you don't like the item for whatever reason, you aren't out any shipping money. Love it!

:: Correction on a previous post: going from what Chris told me, I mentioned that Chester from Linkin Park had gone to Julliard. I'm not sure this is true, because I haven't been able to find anything about it online. What I've found of his biography doesn't mention anything about it, so I felt the need to state that here.

:: Sleeping late tomorrow...ahhhhhhh...

:: Not sure what tomorrow or Monday holds for us, but looking forward to the days of relaxation! Enjoy your weekend!

I've never bought anything from Zappos, but I know a bunch of people who have. Everyone I know loves it. Apparently, it's the new up and coming place to by shoes. :)
