more on carrie

As promised, here is a little more about our Carrie Underwood concert...

It was at the Nokia Theater, and they were so organized. Getting in to park, and leaving afterwards was a cinch. It was a totally different experience from the Linkin Park concert, which took at least an hour to get out of the parking lot. Here, we were out of there in 5 minutes. It was great...

When we got there to park, the sign said $15...my stomach was suddenly filled with dread. We never remember that we'll have to pay for parking at these things, never. I opened my wallet, and found $14. Uh oh. The woman collecting the parking money said, "$15 please..." and Chris said, "What if I only have $14?" She said, "I need $15." Turns out, we were able to give her a drivers license and go into the atm, and then bring the money back out to her and retrieve the license. An interesting start to the evening...

We got to our seats, and they were really good. 8 rows up on the first tier, very easy to see everyone. Little Big Town opened the show, and they harmonized well. I really love a few of their songs, and it was good to hear some of the others.

Then Carrie came on, and she was fabulous. Her voice is flawless, and she really belts the songs. She was personable and comfortable in front of the audience. She seems to still be very grounded and sincere. We truly enjoyed her show. She sang songs from both albums, and even threw in a Fleetwood Mac song and a Guns and Roses song...

After she sang the Fleetwood Mac song with Little Big Town, she was talking about working with Lindsey Buckingham and mentioned Fleetwood Mac again. At this point, the teeny bopper next to me turned to her friend and said, "Who is Fleetwood Mac?" I thought I was going to die. One, that made me feel old! And two, they're legends! These teeny boppers don't know about all the good stuff!!! Kind of sad...

At the end, she waved to us all and was lowered beneath the stage...she sang great, she looked great, and I am so glad that we were able to see the show. Definitely a great gift for our first anniversary...

Aww. I can only imagine what a wonderful concert that was! Hopefully one day I will get to see her in concert as well. I've always loved her since American Idol. sounds like you guys had a great evening. And the Parking Money story cracks me up! I'm glad that you were able to get it worked out. Gary and I do the same thing, we never consider the parking fee AND we carry limited cash!
