our trip so far

11.22.08
We pulled into town around 3:30, and had a nice reunion with mom and Roxy. We hugged and talked and let the dogs get acquainted. They are both used to being “alpha dog”, so they are still adjusting to being together. Mom made us a delicious dinner…homemade Salisbury steaks, mashed potatoes, salad…very tasty. Chris went back for seconds, so you know it must’ve been good! With full bellies, Chris decided he wanted to head to Fleet Feet to look for the new Garmin watch he’s been looking for. Unfortunately, they were closed. So we stopped in at World Market and bought a few goodies. I found the cutest earrings…after a long day, I was sound asleep by 9:30!

We slept until about 9:00, and had breakfast together. Very nice just to be together. Then we headed to the mall…split up and I headed to Archivers. Bought some goodies for myself, for some gifts, and a bunko prize too. Chris found himself a watch that we’re going back tomorrow to pick up…looking forward to seeing that as it’s a Tag, and he’s been wanting one of those since he got ME one for our wedding gift. It’s been killing him that I have one and he doesn’t!! Then off to the Butterfly House we went t meet up with the Repps. We had a nice visit, going through the VERY humid room with all the pretty butterflies. Wanted to take photos of some of them, but my camera fogged up and that was a bust. Took some group photos before we left, and some turned out pretty cute!

From there, we headed to Red Lobster to enjoy a nice dinner altogether. Even was able to look through some of Fonda and Dronda’s scrapbooks. That was great! Dronda’s Alaska album was full of beautiful photos, breathtaking. And Fonda’s album of their 50th anniversary party was so cute. Was so nice to see everyone…
Also stopped at Hong’s and bought some earrings that I needed (silver balls to go with one of my favorite necklaces) and also a cute chain necklace. Looking forward to tomorrow!

Another fun day! We spent all day bumming around, and enjoyed a delicious (unclean!) meal at Steak-n-Shake…yum-o!! We spent a few hours visiting with my grandma and grandpa. So nice to have a little one-on-one time with them. And we spent way too much time at the mall…you’d think we haven’t been to a mall in years! J Aspen found a cute purse that she likes, we’re going to go back because they’re supposed to be getting it in in a different color. Chris bought himself a very nice Christmas present…and I think when we go back on Tuesday for Aspen’s purse, I am going to splurge on a purse for myself. I say splurge because I am a Target purse girl…$20 tops, and I switch out frequently. I think I’m ready to spend a bit (ok, a lot) more for a very nice purse that I can use for a long time. I’ve been thinking on it since yesterday…went back to store twice yesterday. The sales lady gave me a knowing smile…humph. She even said, “Oh, you can put your stuff in it and see what you think.” Yeah!! And then it would be sooo easy to just walk out the store with it! I thought that was too funny. It’s black leather with multiple compartments, with straps that I can carry or put on my shoulder. Classic, and would never go out of style. And it’s a big name brand, which I’ve been wanting. With the Christmas money my grandparents gave me, I’ll just have to put a little money in…We also had dinner with Amy at The Cheesecake Factory…it was pretty good, and the company was fun!! It’s always a good time getting together with Amy, she is full of stories. Wish we were able to see each other more often…but it’s always good to catch up…
