After much thought these last few days, I have come up with a list of seven serious goals that I want to accomplish this year. In no particular order:
1. Read Two Books about Leadership
Things are changing at work, and my new boss sees "leadership abilities" within me...I need to cultivate those tendencies and showcase them in 2009.
2. Scrapbook 240 Pages for our Challenge
There are so many pages to be done...and my latest trend of only scrapping at the monthly crop ain't getting me anywhere...time to whip out some serious work and get closer to being caught up...
3. Work on Being a Better Step-mom
Let's face it...this is not my strength in any form of the word. More patience...more understanding...less harshness...more physical touch without shying away...less Kay and more me...
4. More Improvement on Attitude at Work
I have made huge improvements on this over the last few years. When I started working there, I was a short-timer...I was planning to leave within three years. Now, I'm a company gal. Making that mind-set switch was tough, and I've had to spiffy up my attitude along the way. Doing good but want to stay diligent on this one.
5. Tighten up Clean Eating with only One Treat per Week
I've been doing so dang well since July! I tend to ease up on the weekends though, and I don't like that. I want to treat myself once per week, with something I love. Chips and salsa...moose tracks ice cream. I feel so much happier with myself when I stick to it, and feel better too. Others may not understand my strictness with myself, but I am the only one I need to answer to foodwise...
6. Follow a Cleaning Schedule for the House
I have become such a lazy housekeeper...just ask my hubby! We are always so dang busy though. Martha Stewart, in her housekeeping book, suggests that you set up a schedule for cleaning. Do certain rooms on certain weekends. I would like to attempt this, because when I save all the cleaning for one day, it takes way too long. Breaking it up into doable portions should be easier to handle, and keep after.
7. Get serious about workouts -- want firm results!
I have been doing pretty well on cardio and workouts. I've lost my weight and have kept it off. But now, I want to amp it up a few notches, so I can start to see some serious defintion and tone. With some dedication, I am going to be a knockout :) A little hard work in the bank...
There you have it...I have some work cut out for me in the next year, but truly feel that 2009 is going to be a wonderful year. I am looking forward to it with sweet butterflies in my stomach...a good feeling...
P.S. Best Blog Reader award goes to Dronda for being the ONLY one to reply with her own set of 2009 goals!! Thanks for playing along PTS!
