:: Well, another science lesson. We have a wonderful rice steamer that I use multiple times a week. Love it. Got it as a wedding gift. The directions say to wash all components by hand instead of putting them in the dishwasher. I did this for awhile, but boy do I hate washing dishes by hand. So I got lazy and decided it couldn't hurt. Into the dishwasher they went. Now, every time, my rice burns. Nice brown burnt layer on the bottom. Lovely. I wasn't sure what was going wrong, but it dawned on me tonight. The suction must have gotten messed up. It no longer creates a tight closure when I put the lid on. I have ruined my rice maker. So, I'll be buying another one this weekend, because it is a necessity in my kitchen. And this time, no part of the machine will ever ever ever go in the dishwasher.
:: Tomorrow is such a big day! I have never even watched an Inauguration, I don't think. We will be watching tomorrow for sure, as it is history in the making. And the man is intriguing. It amazes me how he has instilled hope into so many Americans. Where once there was apathy, now there is fervor. Beautiful...
:: Chris is at a work function this evening...eating at one of his favorite restaurants too. Lucky boy! That leaves us girls to fend for ourselves, and that can only mean one thing! My famous chicken salad! (or rightly so, my mom's famous chicken salad). Chris hates it. So I only make it when he isn't home, and that isn't very often! We girls are excited!
:: One thing I love about our treadmill...the incline function. Whew, that gives such a good workout! Walking for 30 minutes on flat ground is one thing, but when you feel like you're hiking up a hill...now that is an intense workout! I was definitely huffing and puffing.
:: This Saturday is the monthly crop and I am looking forward to it. After that, I really need to get busy preplanning lots and lots and lots of pages to do at our February retreat at Miller Ranch. I am looking so forward to two days away in the country with the girls. Fun times!
:: The Bachelor got rid of that horrible blonde chick...yay! She had awful hair, and played with it constantly. And boy was she conceited...she thought she had 'a lot going on'. She seemed very 1 dimensional. Glad he's looking for more than that!
Well...I'm off...tune in tomorrow to watch history in the making!!
