a pretty good day

:: Got some feedback on my annual report, and feel really good about it. They seemed to like the design a lot, and even added that the experience this year has been very "stress-free"...all good stuff! There are, of course, lots of copy changes and a few tid bits to move around...but all in all, I'm a happy GD (graphic designer)... :)

:: I'm not a big believer in horoscopes...(sorry, mom!)...but I read one in my In Touch magazine last night that stopped me in my tracks. I decided to cut it out and put it somewhere that I can see it often. I guess it can't hurt! Sometimes, it's a little eerie how close they come to your life, isn't it?

:: Idol thoughts: My favorites of the night were Kris (loved his version of Ain't no Sunshine) and Danny Gokey...the rest were ho-hum in my book. I thought Adam did ok on his song, but not on the chorus part...it was way too fast and whacked...but the rest was decent.

:: Dancing with the Stars thoughts: very very pleased that Holly and Apple guy went home. They definitely needed to!!! I just tuned in for the last 5 minutes of the show, so don't know what else transpired before that.

:: Made a new recipe this evening that I thought was very tasty. It's a quinoa recipe (pronounced keen-wa), and if you haven't tried quinoa, you really should. It resembles a rice, but is round in shape. The great thing is that it is a great source of protein!

---------------------------------
Quinoa with Herbs & Olives

2 tbs olive oil
2 cups quinoa

1 tsp sea salt
1/2 cup diced black olives and green olives
1 tbs basil
1/3 cup cilantro, finely chopped
1/3 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped

Rinse the quinoa well in a fine mesh strainer. Cook according to package directions (I did mine in my rice cooker). Combine all other ingredients together in a medium serving bowl and stir until well mixed. Add warm quinoa to mix and stir to evenly coat. Mmmm.
-------------------------------------

:: I was introduced today to a new coworker's wife...he said to her, "This is the healthy eater I was telling you about." I got a good laugh out of that. It's funny to me how people think I am so odd and out of the ordinary because I eat fruit and veggies! :)

:: I'm off...gotta workout...abs via Jackie Warner tonight...

glad that the report only had minor changes that needed to be done. Danny Gokey is mine and Kelsey's pick this year on Idol. Love him! He has such a sad story. And Dancing with the stars fans did the right thing with the ones that went home!
