catch up

:: Monday evening, I went to the Rangers baseball game with the Marketing department at work. We had a fun time! As one of the many wonderful perks for working for this company, we every so often are gifted some great tickets...12 rows up, right behind the visiting duggout. We flew to Dallas on the company jet, were treated to a delicious dinner at the Gold Club, and watched the Rangers lose 6 - 3. It was still fun though, and I know just how blessed I am! The flight home was a bit bumpy because of a storm, so that was interesting...but our pilots got us home safely and I rolled into bed around 12:15. Wayyyy past my bedtime, but a good time was had by all.

:: Report card arrived, and that equals doomsday. I'm just really at a loss as of what to say or do in this situation. Not only did Aspen get a C, which isn't acceptable in our household, she also brought home a failing grade in Language Arts. How do you even deal with that??? I would like to just hit 'pause' and insert a different set of parents, just to see how they would handle it. Just to see if they had any impact on a child who seems to be phased by nothing. I'm really at a loss.

:: Our new 4th designer started at work on Monday!! I can't tell you how thrilled I am!!! After years of being crazy busy, it will be so nice to have an extra body to spread the work to. Her name is Kathy, and she will only be working part-time...Monday - Wednesday. But those three days will help a whole lot. I have spent the last two days with her, going over the ropes. She and I are going to get along great, I can already tell.
