:: Aspen is in the process of reading the Harry Potter series...it began as a way for her to pass the time since she is grounded for her grades. But honestly, she is really enjoying it. Our little non-reader is engrossed. Who would have thought it possible? One evening, I looked up from my book...we were all in the living room, and we were all reading. I don't think I've ever seen that in my household, ever. My heart stopped for a minute!! She just finished #3 and has jumped right into #4, which has over 700 pages. At this rate, she could get the whole series done before she goes back to school. At some point, though, she'll be ungrounded. Will she continue reading when she can instead go out with friends or text? I'll believe it when I see it!
:: I've been going through some of my magazines to get rid of, and have pulled out a few neat websites to look into. This one searches for pick-your-own farms where you can pick berries, fruit, etc. That's kind of cool. This one looks like a cool foodie blog. This one looks to have some cute odds and ends, especially the bird necklaces. Love those! And this one has some neat prefab books, just need to add photos. Cute little gifts.
:: I also thought this recipe sounded delish:
Watermelon Berry Lemonade
8 cups cubed seeded watermelon
3 cups hulled & quartered strawberries
2 12 oz cans frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
8 cups water
Wedges of watermelon and whole hulled strawberries for garnish
In blender, combine half the watermelon, berries, and lemonade concentrate. Cover & blend until smooth. Transfer to a container. Repeat with remaining. Add water. Chill up to 2 days. When serving, float watermelon wedges and strawberries in pitcher. Serve over ice.
Nice and refreshing for summer, and Clean too!
:: Did anyone watch the new Superstars show, where a professional athlete is paired up with a celebrity and they do challenges? The show was okay, but I was blown away by that model's reaction to T.O. She was such a b*tch! I couldn't believe some of the things she was saying to him, like "You call yourself an athlete? Why do you get paid a million dollars?" She even told him to shut up! Whew. He looked at her like she was crazy.
:: So You Think You Can Dance was pretty good this evening. None of the episodes have been as good as the first one, that show was awesome. But there were some good dances throughout the evening. So far, my favorite guy is Jason, and I have a few favorite girls...
:: Time to relax...
