just a wednesday

:: Had bunko this evening, and laughed a lot...we had some new girls playing with us, and I really enjoyed them. I apparently played pretty well and was second from the top. I chose an unknown prize, and came home with a $10 gift card to Michaels...so I get to go shopping!! :) For a girl who isn't buying any scrapbook supplies this whole year, that is pretty exciting! I also got a 2010 calendar with a yummy looking dessert recipe for each month. I personally won't be eating any of those, but I might make some for others!

:: I'd like to talk for a moment about having your photo taken. A few helpful hints, maybe? At work Tuesday, I had to take an individual photo of each employee in our company. Everyone was lined up and I started clicking. I can not tell you how many people complained about the way they looked, wouldn't smile for me because they hate their teeth, talked about how unphotogenic they are. OMG!!!! Listen up...you look the way you look. You can either work a little harder to make yourself look better, or you can suck it up and work with what you have. You don't like your teeth? Get some Crest White Strips. Even if your teeth are knarly, I would much prefer to see a photo of you looking happy with a smile to seeing you grimace with your mouth shut. We are all so self conscious about ourselves, and do you know what? The things that we don't like about ourselves are very rarely noticed by other people. So stop pointing them out!! Do you know why you think you are unphotogenic?? Because you make having a picture made into such an ordeal...of course you're unphotogenic, you refuse to smile!!!!!!!! Relax, put a smile on, and try to look natural. Forget the posing and the nervous fidgeting...I think if you would try to just enjoy the process a little more and stop being so negative about yourself, you will find that you actually begin to like photos of yourself. Give it a try...

:: Okay, I'm off my soap box. This just really drives me nuts.

:: I'm about to watch SYTYCD and I'm excited...waiting for Chris to join me so that we can start the DVR...

:: Unsure of where things stand with the house we want, but I will say that things are being discussed. I am hopeful, but reserved...I will post something when I know more definite details...
