layout of the day + etc

:: Today, Chris and I had lunch with his department at Szchuan's...yummy chinese!! We were celebrating two birthdays and I am very happy they chose that restaurant. Enjoyed my sodium-full meal and felt sluggish the rest of the afternoon. Not to mention smelling like soy sauce all day :) I love Chinese...

:: We had a severe thunderstorm here around 6:45 or so...it came in swift and hard and left not long after. Our parched Texas earth sure needed it.

:: Coach Art told Aspen this evening that she "eats like a chicken" (meaning bird, I'm sure...he's from Africa and says some funny things!)...she got dizzy at practice and he says it is because she isn't eating enough food. Which we've both been trying to tell her. She is 5'4.5" and weighs 98 pounds. She is a bona fide stick figure. She needs lots of fuel for all her running, so hopefully she will start listening to us!! I'm going to do some research online and see if I can find some daily food logs for athletes...just to show her how much she needs to be eating.

:: Remember all those scrapbook layouts I finished at the July retreat? I've yet to post any of them, you may or may not have noticed. So last night, I decided that the task of photographing all the layouts, sizing them in Photoshop, and posting them here was just too daunting...and instead, it would be easier to post one layout a day. So, for the next 42 posts or so, I will present you with a Layout of the Day...oh, yes, I know you are bubbling over with excitement!

LAYOUT OF THE DAY:

Life is good...part of our challenge this year is to use up our ever-growing stock of supplies. I have had this "Life is good" rub on for years. Have loved it, but didn't know how to use it. It was all one piece, and would have stretched up the whole side of my page vertically. I finally decided to break it up, and then I had no problem using it. This is a fun picture Chris took in December 2007. And I think my mom will be happy, there is not a single thing on this page that is "straight". She always makes fun of me because I always line everything up so straight and neat.
