what's going on

:: We had a pretty low-key weekend here...kind of nice. Out to eat a few times, a trip to Target and Michaels, cleaning and grocery shopping on Sunday.

:: I did quite a bit of research on what Ocho needs to be eating to prevent the stones from returning. I can spend a lot of money on special dog food, or I can attempt to make his food. Something like a rice/hamburger combo but I'd have to add in some supplements. He can also eat fruit and veggies. Not sure. Will do more research. Have to decide by Wednesday, when the vet places his order for the special food. Anybody out there make their dog's food?

:: We received some bad news regarding the house we were wanting to buy. We had a contingency with the seller, to buy as soon as our house sells. Well, the seller received another offer on their house, without a contingency, so they are going with that. Which means, no house for us. We've spent some time this weekend talking about what we're going to do now. I think we are going to leave our house on the market for now and keep looking for something that we like. We actually found one option last night. It's still under construction, but it looks like the main framing is complete. We would get to pick out a lot of the inside stuff. It's a two acre lot, and the floor plan was really nice. There is even going to be a whole wall of windows in the living room. There are a lot of neat features, and the back porch even has a fireplace and a place for a tv. It will take probably at least two months to finish the house out, giving us more time to try to sell the house. Our realtor knows the builder and believes he'd do a contingency with us, on our house selling. So...we're in limbo, really. Which stresses both me and Chris out. It's no fun having a plan, and then having life interfere. But, as everyone keeps telling us, that other house obviously was not meant to be for some reason. Moving on...

:: I'm hosting bunko at our house on Wednesday and need to figure out what to make for it. I have to do a main dish. Hmmmmm...

:: I bought some Pomegranate green tea today, can't wait to try that. Yum.

:: My coworker gave me a new recipe for chicken salad that I plan on making for lunches this week. I will share the recipe if it's yummy!

LAYOUT OF THE DAY:

dig gig: a simple one about our yearly summer party at work, which we call the "dig gig"...the bottom right half is actually the inviation I designed at work; very straight-forward way of capturing the evening. Nothing fancy! And honestly, not too many supplies even used. I find that my style is really getting minimalistic. Velvet ribbon along the bottom of both pages, and a journaling tag. Done!
