Friday evening, after riding my bike 6 miles with Chris while he ran, we all went out to dinner at Red Robin...from there, picked up some fertilizer at Lowes and then I spent the rest of my evening pulling papers for scrapbook preplanning.
Saturday was the district track meet...Aspen ran the mile and a half, and the mile...one was at 10:00 a.m. and the other was around 4:00. So, a long day in the sun. We did take a break and head to Underwoods for lunch with Mimi, and then with Chris back at the stadium, I looked around at Burke's Outlet and Walgreens to waste some time. Not much to do in Brownwood, that's for sure!
Aspen had two races that were decent. She came in second in both races, and lost to a girl from her own school. She hasn't had a stellar track season, so I would say that second place was lucky for her. She hasn't put her heart into her training this season, and therefore didn't really deserve first like last year.

We got home around 6:30 or so, to two very happy dogs. Lucky for us, my sweet Kim agreed to stop by and let the boys out to potty and feed Ocho mid-day. There is no way they could have lasted all day. Ocho didn't exactly make it too easy on Kim, but I think they made out okay :) On the drive home, I started thinking about how I needed to thank Kim by taking her out to lunch. Imagine my surprise when we got home and I saw this sitting on our kitchen counter:

She is too much...a sweet bouquet of pretty flowers and a sweet card about friendship. I hit the jackpot when I met this girl!!!
I had to share a few pics of my Ocho...pics of him being back to his normal self!

That face brings me joy! And look at this one!

Playing a little ball...gently! I actually took him on a little walk this afternoon...we didn't go far, but he did seem to enjoy it. We're about to begin Week 5 of his 6 week recovery. He's doing great!
And I have to show off Chris' handy work!!! He has finished our biggest flower bed with the stone edging...it looks so very nice!!!! Chris has really gotten the hang of working with this stone and I must say he's doing a great job! This is really going to make our yard look so much better. It's incredible how much more "finished" it looks.
I wrapped up my weekend by painting my toenails kelly green!!! Very cute!
A full week ahead for us too...need to get my oil changed and tires aligned...getting a hair cut on Wednesday evening...we have a wedding to attend on Friday and Saturday is my monthly crop. April is very full indeed...

Sounds like you guys had a busy, but nice weekend. Ocho and I made out just fine, he just wanted to play some hide and seek isntead of going back in his cage. :)
I'd say I'm the one that hit the jackpot finding a friend like you!
have a great week.
